We wrap up another unforgettable season of live music with a program featuring Beethoven and Mahler. The title “Titans!” says it all. Celebrate our season finale and get a sneak peek at the programming for our 50th season!
“A symphony must be like the world. It must embrace everything.” – Mahler
Beethoven’s Triple Concerto is the only one he completed for more than one solo instrument — and the only one he ever wrote for cello.
Mahler’s piece, based on Jean Paul’s novel “Titan,” is an early example of a long, multi-movement symphony that tells a story or conveys a specific mood or message.
Violinist Mae Lin, cellist Eric Han, and pianist Xiaohui Yang are all members of the Seattle Symphony.
