Of Note

Stravinsky’s Firebird was used in Walt Disney’s Fantasia 2000.

Jessie Montgomery won a Grammy Award in 2024 for Rounds.

Tchaikovsky wrote his Violin Concerto in March 1878 while staying on Lake Geneva in the Swiss Alps. Violinist Iosif Kotek visited Tchaikovsky and urged him to compose a violin concerto. A concerto is a piece for a soloist and orchestra.

Jessie Montgomery’s Banner is a rhapsody on the theme of The Star Spangled Banner.

Firebird was written for the 1910 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes company.

Acclaimed for her passionate, powerful performances, beautiful sound, and compelling command of her instrument, violinist Bella Hristova is a young musician with a growing international career.
